Hi all, I've posted a few times around here and haven't gotten any bites yet, but I won't be deterred that easily.  The site does seem to move a bit slow, and I'm technically not a steampunk artist or writer, so there is that.

In any case, I've gotten to the point in my project where I am starting to add some art.  I am using GIMP for my current graphic needs, and I have created a decent looking tile set and laid out a small lanscape.  I can't post the picture here, but if you care to take a look, I am also working on a game design wiki that I have posted them to, which can be found here.

I am now in need of some buildings to put on my landscape, but again, I'm not an artist, so I was wondering if any of you might be willing to let me use some of your art to see what I can do with it.  To give you an idea of what I am looking for, this is the beginning of the game, so nothing extraordinary.  The buildings I am working on now will be the resource makers, which are food, rocks, and wood, and some shops to sell these items.  Also, some basic "beginning" style housing.

Each of the discernible "squares" on the pics are the basic unit of measure I'm looking at, and the resource makers will be 3x3 structures, and the houses can be either 2x2 or 3x3.  Each square is made up of 40 pixels squared in it's original form, and these have been modified to be diamonds, which are 60 px width and 30px height.  That should be enough for you to determine what kind of surface area I'm working with, and hopefully I've presented enough information to garner someone's interest.

While I do intend to make some money with this game eventually, I am currently not in the position to offer any for pieces of work, however I will point one thing out.  In trying to develop this game, I have become increasingly aware of and sensitive to intellectual property licensing, so I would not even think of just taking anyone's work.  Besides, when my game goes to market, money is not going to be the problem.  Even before then, I will be launching my kickstarter project, which is where I intend to gain my seed money.  And even if that doesn't work, I've still got a few other things up my sleeves.  This game will happen.

"I hear you. So, does Wattpad plan to sell books one day? Or is that not part of the vision? Signing off. Will check back later. "

"I'm not a fan of Amazon at all I'm afraid. Kobo are far nice to their independant writers. Amazon's select program is just a money grabbing tool and I really don't like it at all..."

"Oooh, good to know. I like this. As soon as I come out of Amazon Select for a title of mine, I'm going to dive into Wattpad with it. Darn Amazon is so good at favoring its Select titles, it's hard to make the break when you're just…"

"I suspect if we started a Steampunk group, we'd then have to start a Dystopian one, a Bieber one, a 'we love tomatoes' one and numerous others =]   You're more than welcome to start a steampunk chat thread in the Sf club…"

"Steampunk is definitely in the ascendence at the moment, there are some great books and films around. It's also good to see some of the more niche punks like Diesel and Clock going up on there too.   I'd love to see Bieber do…"

"I hear you. :-) Y'all need to get that Justin Bieber steampunk-styled video on your site as a reminder to teen girls that steampunk is cool. Better yet, get Justin Bieber to write a steampunk novel. I'll ghost write it for him! (not…"

"You can include any links you like on your profile board, and also within the chapters of your book you can add in an expternal link. This works particularly well with Amazon, as if people search directly for your book, a link to Amazon should also…"
