Hey, I've seen this new steampunk book called 'boneshaker' ad wanted to know if anyone read it to tell me if it's any good. It sounded interesting, so please drop your opinions here. Thanks!

I know Boneshaker and the entire series have gotten a lot of positive hype in the community, but honestly, I was considerably underwhelmed. I went in really wanting to like it, but it just did not deliver for me. I know a lot of others feel differently, though, so it depends a lot on personal taste and what you're looking for in a steampunk novel. If you want more detailed thoughts, I reviewed it on my book blog a while back.

It's good, I enjoyed it.  I feel Cherie Priest did a great job with characters and story but I would have liked more about the alternate history she created.

I really enjoyed Boneshaker. It's not a life-changing novel or anything, but it's a fun adventure story and Priest has a real way with characters and stories.

I enjoyed the story - it was fun and the characters were interesting - but like Jeff, I would've liked more on the alternate history side of things.

I have to say that I thought Boneshaker was definitely the best by far of the 3 books - that seemed to have really not much connection at all to Boneshaker - which i would've thought if they're a trilogy? so that was quite disappointing. On its own though, it's a decent book - not the best (I prefer Gail Carriger's stuff) but not bad :)
