It was a joint Canadian-British production, filmed in Montréal. Also, the first hour-long TV series filmed in high definition video.

This looks wonderful, Paul! I'm going to see if it's available at amazon.co.uk.

Have you seen The Infinite Worlds of H.G. Wells?

OKAY we need to make a master list of all the suggestions here so far....
Your wish is my command! I've added the suggestions to the original post above, and added a few. Got more?

Brisco County Jr and the original Wild Wild West in the TV series area.

And thanks for making the list :)

I was thinking about Steamboy myself...thanks for mentioning it!  : )

Has anyone mentioned Steamboy? The plot is a little odd (But expected: Japanese Anime after all) and the art in the movie is absolutely gorgeous.  Even if you don't like the plot, watching the movie for all the steampunk machinery is a must.

Have any of you heard of Last Exile? It's a steampunk inspired Japanese anime.  It has airships blasting each other with cannons, Chivalry (Or lack thereof.) Flying machines that are kind of like airplanes but not quite. Lots and lots of goggles along with much more. One of my favorite Animes.  Here is a link to the official site: http://www.funimation.com/lastexile/

Should be added under  TV Shows. Brisco County Jr. Is a tv show btw, not a movie.

No problem. I remember another Anime that is really steampunk inspired (See my reply above.) If you liked Steamboy, check it out.

Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

This just popped up on Wired, and it looks very interested:  http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2011-07/26/henry-waltz

Everyone keeps saying 'Brazil' is steampunk but I just don't see it. A few steampunkish visuals but just as much as '12 monkeys'.
Dystopian society aside, it's just not steampunk to me at all.

I watched the new Four Musketeers movie last night. Very steam punky.
Didn't go much on the story line though and the casting was awful in my very humble opinion.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.xx
