Most of you know me as the creator of the news and information resource site, Airship Ambassador.
(By the way, it would be great to interview more of you for the blog)
Some of you may also be familiar with my latest project, The Steampunk Museum
The mission of the Museum is to document all of the amazing and inspiring people, events and artifacts of our community. A number of exhibit pages are already up but that still leaves over 1400 (and growing) exhibits to add.
This is where the Museum, and I, could use your help.
First, if you've contributed to the steampunk community - author, artist, musician, maker, editor, etc - let's talk about adding you and your work as exhibits to the Museum
Second, researcher/writers would be helpful to tackle that backlog of 1400 other exhibits.
Some people have submitted ideas to add to the list, which is also great. There's a form on the website.
Some of you have also contacted me previously about writing up exhibit pages and I need to follow up with you again (or feel free to drop me another friendly reminder). There's a form on the JOIN page.
If you have any questions, please drop me a note here or via email on the website.
The Steampunk Museum is such a wonderful idea, and is a beautiful site, too.
I hope all our members consider a way to get involved!
The Museum sounds like a great project, and once my novel is released, I'd be happy to add it to the museum. What kind of writing work do you need done? I can donate a little time.
In regards to you asking about interviews, I would love the opportunity to be interviewed on Airship Ambassador. I've nearly completed writing a steampunk adventure novel entitled Discovering Aberration. I'll be mounting a kickstarter campaign to fund professional editing and design work this July, and I need to build awareness in the meantime. Would you be interested in an interview, or I'd be happy to guest blog post if you prefer.
My name is Leslie Orton, I am the founder.editor.publisher of the online Steampunk newspaper, The Aether Chronicle. I would love to be included in your Steampunk Museum. I have published 12 editions of The Chronicle thus far, which documents Steampunk news (both real and fictional) and includes The Aether Review of Books, which offers writers the opportunity to submit their pieces for review. You can catch up on past editions of The Chronicle on My Page. I post a blog for every new edition of The Chronicle, and I also keep a Discussion updated with each new edition. I'm not sure f you would prefer I submit a single edition for the Museum to review, or if you would prefer to pick the one that best serves your purposes to be considered. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do!
