Physics: Potential Energy, Kinetic Energy, MA (Mechanical Advantage).
1)
A weight is dropped.
A rope is attached to the weight, which is wound around a turbine.
Thus, whenever the weight drops, energy is generated.
2)
—The weight may be pulled back up, for another drop, thus restoring the potential energy.
—In order to make the pull more efficient, a pulley may be introduced on either side of the weight. A 2 pulley system is MA 2, so 2 of these is MA 4.
—Further efficiency may be added by placing a wheel and axel, another MA device.
3)
Another possibility design is a rotating wheel.
—While it is balanced, and the weight will not drop, with power assist, it can turn a turbine in the center.
—an MA wheel and axel can be added to the center to increase efficiency.
—It should be possible to place the pulleys at the sides, with the rope sliding up along them, MA 4.
—Possible advance, is to go from a wheel to a sphere, although I am unsure whether this works. Then, there may be some way to further alter the inside to gain a 3 dimensional effect.
Pulleys may not work with the sphere, then again, maybe the sphere can rotate, cradled, with pulleys on either side.
On the interior, a curved wheel and axel system is layered to increment MA.
Furthermore, spin should be considered as a resource with regard to energy for the sphere.
4)
Possible Power Sources
—Mechanical (wind up, lever)
—Wind, Solar, Renewable
—Fossil, Vegetable
—Chemical
5)
Formula
F = ma
gravity = 9.8
F = (kg)(9.8)(meters)
6)
Potential Applications
Endless
7)
A way to transport big weights, is to divide up the weight into 20 lb bricks that snap together to form the big weight. The smaller bricks have handles for carrying.
The big weights can be further divided up, so that they lift separately, depending on how many different lifts it is convenient to have.
