I'm new to the world of steampunk but want to learn!  I'm familiar with medieval and renaissance, but not steampunk.

A couple of steampunk short stories someone might recommend?

How a bestselling steampunk novel you love?

Swingjugend

I thought the Swingjugend of WWII would make a fine addition to Steampunk. The Swingjugend rejected the Nazi state, above all because of its ideology and uniformity, its militarism, the 'Führer principle' and the leveling Volksgemeinschaft (people’s community).  http://holocaustmusic.ort.org/politics-and-propaganda/third-reich/swing-kids-behind-barbed-wire/See More

"I see postings not necessarily from the age of steam.  In that case, I recommend the sourcebooks for the RPGs Shadowrun and Cyberpunk.  They both involve cyber, though they are set in an SF more 80s-esque, and not steam, though it could be…"
