The book I'm writing is about the journey of a southern gentleman in the U.S Confederacy. With a European education and Tesla-like intellect, he crafts a hybrid airship. Escaping a war torn Confederacy, he discovers a plot by an old rival to twist his secret society's technology for otherworldly domination.
When I first started writing, I mean seriously writing, steam punk grabbed a hold of me. When I began the novel, my intention was to make it steam punk through and through, but the science fiction and fantasy nerd came out in me. When I started writing I was worried that, as it is when I run a RP game, I'd have problems with developing character motivation. Assuming I could buffer that some with technology and science fiction, I set out to write a work of Steam punk/ science fantasy.
