"Hi Bella I enjoy a well done mash up as much as a well done pure Genre piece.  For me, it's all in whether or not the book/narrative has world and concept integrity. In some ways, the very nature of Steampunk invites a broader imagining of…"

Introduce yourself!
Hello All,
I have been developing story and properties for over 25 years in TV, motion picture, publishing and more. I presently have a Meta-story development business for many large clients. Most recently, I have decided to openly develop my re-imagining of the Frankenstein myth as an online blog. The project is moving ahead nicely and the worldwide interest has been very exciting.
What do you hope to find at The Steampunk Writers & Artists Guild?
I am hoping to find other writer/artist/creators who enjoy working in the Speculative fiction Steampunk Genre and simply engage in a rich conversation and exchange about this quickly growing arena we are playing in.
How did you hear about us?

Introduction and interview

Posted on December 27, 2010 at 8:00am 0 Comments

Hello All,

I have just joined this fine group and look forward to meeting other Steampunk creators.  I thought it might be helpful to post an interview I have just completed with the Conselho Steampunk from Brazil as a way to share what I'm up to.  Who else in this group is working in a crossover between Steampunk and elements of Gothic Horror?  Would love to see other projects and ideas happening in the Aethersphere.  In case…

Welcome to the Guild, Kevin! I had a great time visiting your blog, and have featured the video of your Brazilian interview on the front page of our site as I think it will appeal to many of our members, and those merely visiting the site out of curiosity. What I particularly like is the way your thought processes broaden the genre away from the goggles and airships cliches and raise Steampunk back to a literary exploration of the future of mankind. Glad to have you with us!

Kevin - Thanks for reading the TCK blog and for the kind words. I've neglected the blog in favor of another I've been doodling with about becoming a published writer. I should post in the TCK blog a bit more often. I didn't check your profile before I responded to your comments, but I will. What genre do write? Cheers, Leigh
