Pauline Baird Jones replied to Kelly Stanaway's discussion Handling Reviews
"It's tough to have the first not go well. I've been publishing since 1998 and it happens. I've read on loops that some readers won't take seriously a book that only gets good reviews. They are suspicious of all good reviews. So…"

Pauline Baird Jones replied to Nicole Ross's discussion Simultaneous publication across all formats, or e-books first?
"My books usually release in digital before print. Its the way my publisher does it and I use each release for a puff moment. Try to build momentum over a period of time. The question isn't, IMHO, should I release the ebook/print in what order,…"

Pauline Baird Jones replied to Sophie Playle's discussion Body Horror and the Fusion of Man & Machine

Pauline Baird Jones replied to Sophie Playle's discussion Body Horror and the Fusion of Man & Machine
"My novel deals with this in a small way: a mind control device. Not sure if it fits your criteria though. Been mulling it. For me, loss of personal control is very horrifying. But my novels tend to be more action adventure than horror."
