Spinner of yarns, storyteller, purveyor of fantasy both dark and wondrous, Rick Hipps began his love of all things fantastic while in the Armed Forces, and that love of fantasy convinced him to author several early short stories, and gain membership in the Nebraska Writer’s Group.
Rick, and his wife of 31 years, author Verna McKinnon, with whom he is currently writing a paranormal series set in an alternate Victorian universe, are owned by three cats, Molly, Bridget and Duncan. His works appear online in Bewildering Stories and Absent Willow Review and in AWR’s Best of Horror, Fantasy & Science Fiction of 2009 print anthology. A new dark horroe tale, Hunter's Run, has been accepted for the upcoming British publication, Weird War Anthology, through War of the Words Press.
What do you hope to find at The Steampunk Writers & Artists Guild?
Looking to connect with Steampunk & Neo-Victorian authors and fans. My wife, author Verna McKinnon and I have begun collaberating on a series of paranormal adventure novels/stories set in an alternative Victorian Era. We are hoping to bounce some ideas off those who care to listen, offer up a few bits and pieces for your reading pleasure and perhaps some constructive critiques.
