Introduce yourself!
Hi, I'm a SF, Fantasy, and Horror author with several books published. I've recently ventured into Steampunk (just finished a novella) and I'm looking for places to submit, preferably at pro or close to pro rates. I've a plethora of published short stories to my credit, as well as a total of five novels (two of which are anthologies), and numerous articles at various SF and horror magazines.
What do you hope to find at The Steampunk Writers & Artists Guild?
I hope to be able to interact with other authors, as well as publishers, and illustrators. Interconnecting with others in general, disseminating news of submission calls, etc., and generally learning, developing, and helping others to do this as well, are my primary goals

Also, to catch people up, my latest books are DARKER SIDE OF THE MOON "They" Are Watching Us! This is now Number #1 on the Amazon Kindle Best Seller List for its genres, and has been for about two months now. And…

Successful Writing, Whether For Steampunk Or Otherwise

Editors, Publishers, And The Fine Art Of Compromise

Successful writing is not easy. As authors, we already know this much. And, of course, there are a number of factors in being a successful writer. Included among these is a willingness to edit and cut your work as needed. This last means you have to be willing to be an…

Holiday Question: Do We Have Moral Obligations As Writers Of Steampunk?

Posted on October 7, 2011 at 9:11am 4 Comments

Morality—this is a tricky issue, but specifically with regard to the subject in the sense of morality plays, as in good versus evil, bad guys/girls versus good guys/girls. Steampunk, as a genre, relies particularly heavily on this sort of interaction in its plots, but then so do most speculative genres to a great degree. Still, with Victorian settings so often prevalent in Steampunk tales, that particular time’s concepts of right and wrong, good versus evil, often have to figure very… Continue
