I'd love a volunteer to add these to our events tab -- any takers?

Before the Adventure, came the Voices

Goaded into adventure by an old friend, writer Julian Turleau invites a young inventor and his wife into his home. Their goal? Invent the first wireless communications and make their mark on world history. When fear and jealousy collide with excited pride, all hell breaks loose amidst their…

The Electricians are Coming!

Reading up on the Swedish author August Strindberg (1849-1912). In the late 1890s he suffered a mental breakdown and during this period he was convinced that he was threathened by an unknown group of "electricians, black magicians, and wizards". Wonderful stuff there for a writer. Like in this quote from "Excerpts from the Diary of a Damned Man":

Great Music with a steampunk feel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jzJqqTNjVw

Frenchy and the Punk, I met them at The Great Steampunk Exhibition.  A wonderful pair, living an artist's adventure, traveling and performing all over.  My table was next to theirs, they sold CD's and T-shirts, and I my book.  I wasn't expecting much from their music, then this video pops up on my facebook.  I see these two and a couple other great folks from the same event. …

Steampunked Vampires. Or should that be bandwagons?

Not so much a blog, more a series of questions... but first, the context.

It’s a new year. As I look back at the old one, I see a few personal successes such as two new books published, one concerning the idiotic Ripperology business, the other a steampunk work that seems to have done reasonably well on the Double Dragon Fictionwise list. (Jack the Theorist and Rise of the Steampunk Empire, if you wish to look either one up. The latter is published under my ‘Barnabas…

Voidships "Winter" update

I hope you had as nice a New Year celebration as you wished for.

Over on my main Voidships blog I have added the second installment about how the script for Winter evolved from a rejected pitch to the BBC (yes I was invited to pitch to the BBC) to the final web series script.

The Azure Cat

I'm in because I drew blueprints for a water ship / aerial / spacecraft, It runs on steam, and utilizes a mechanical energy storage and generation device.Within the vessel is a garden, for entirely self-contained food. The one aspect I haven't entirely worked out is H2O generation, i.e. fuel, or perpetual fuel. The ship also has a gamer's deck, in the event things get dull, or the moment strikes.Happy Sailing,SJSee More
