I was playing around in Photoshop yesterday and created this little gem.  It may actually become a featured card in a new card game.  I'll keep you posted.  :-)

Mr. Edward,

My name is Leslie Orton, I am the publisher/editor/founder of the online Steampunk newspaper The Aether Chronicle. I was wondering if you would be interested in "The Ripper" being a Featured Story in The Aether Chronicle? Your photo might serve as a "candid shot" of a suspected murderer. I don't know if you are a writer or an artist (or both); perhaps you would like to write something from the perspective of "the Ripper"? or I could write something about an investigator pursuing the wily murderer? Or perhaps the Ripper is simply misunderstood? If you are interested please contact me. If you would like to review previous issues of The Chronicle, simply visit My Page. I post a blog for every new edition, and there is also a discussion I keep updated, so you can view previous editions of The Chronicle there.

Ms. Orton,

Thank you for your message to me.  I am familiar with your publication.  Indeed, I am a regular subscriber (although I haven;t seen a copy in some time).  It would be an honor to write a bit about the Ripper.  How soon would you need it?  The picture of the ripper could be a great candid shot.  I fully endorse it.  Please let me know as soon as possible what sort of time frame you are looking at.

Thank you very much,

Kent Whittington

Mr. Wittington,

The soonest I could get you in would be the 14th edition. That need not be for some time. The Chronicle publishes an average of two editions per month, roughly every two weeks. The second edition will be around July 24th, so the 14th edition might publish around August 7th. Is that enough time? Let me know if you need more. I am concerned that you haven't seen an edition of The Chronicle in some time—the last edition published only June 26th. Do you follow the discussion on my web page, where the new editions are posted? Otherwise, I post a blog with the new edition in the title. Please let me know how you normally receive The Chronicle, because if you aren't receiving it possibly others aren't as well. Finally, how do you think you will be writing this piece? From the perspective of a detective, from a villain, from an innocent...?

So looking forward to this!

Dear Ms. Orton,

The 14th edition sounds fine.  It is actually very good timing as I have currently entered into Camp Nanowrimo and will be writing desperately for the month.  I am certain that I can produce something for you by then.

I am uncertain yet as to how I will proceed.  I could write a letter as the Ripper to the Chronicle, i.e. the "Dear Boss," letter associated with him, but I am leaning much more into the investigator or innocent aspect.  Much of it depends on what you had in mind, whether you wish me to write it as an article or as a story.

As to the Chronicle itself, I did not receive the last edition (I looked it up on your page just to be certain).  Normally, I receive it via email notification as I was one of your randomly selected viewers that received a free subscription.

I hope this helps.  Thank you for the opportunity.

Warmest regards,

Kent Whittington

Mr. Whittington,

I am so looking forward to your piece! To Subscribe to The Aether Chronicle, simply go to My Page and "Follow" the Discussion that has the most recent edition of The Chronicle in the title (eg. right now it is "The Aether Chronicle #12: Sea Monster Sparks Panic at Lime!"). If you do not receive edition #13, please let me know!
