Blame it on Nick Valentino and Thomas Riley

It was at the SC Literary Convention in 2009, where I first met Nick Valentino. I was in attendance with authors from my small press, Shadow Archer Press and Fissure Magazine and co-writers from our Greenville writers' critique group, The Reedy River Rats.

I knew just a little about steampunk and …

Review: Boneshaker by Cherie Priest

I came to this touted in the steampunk genre, with some unease. I didn't quite understand the concept of zombies in the steampunk world, and I have to admit it started off slow for me, being more a history than a character opening. But once I plowed through, I found it to be  a very enjoyable read for a number of reasons. Once Cherie introduced us to her characters, especially… Continue

Hi! My book is set in Victorian England; I was very vague in my first draft, and originally thought of the Regency period, but I think setting it later will fit the story better.

My cred is a short story published on DF_Underground, and online horror zine called Toy Maker's Apprentice. I have a Dark Fantasy/Steampunk novel out to agents at this time, but that's it.
There are some steamypunk erotica anthologies out there. Several, in fact. I dont think they are old enough to have shown up on Duotrope or Ralan yet. Check out Saritza Hernandez, the epub agent with the L Perkins agency. She reps mostly erotica and loves steampunk. She has a blog where she posts calls for submissions for such anthologies. She even reps short stories, and has sold steamypunk shorts to anthologies before.

No worries, if their copyright rules don't allow it, just give us a link or some info to how we can read it by putting a blog post up. I don't normally encourage self-promotion on the blog, but I think that counts as educational, or informative, or "of general interest" which fits the focus of the blog perfectly. :)
